Shreveport’s Top Facial Redness Treatments

Vascular lasers are used to treat persistent facial redness, scars, stretch marks, and red birthmarks.

Sun damage and repeated episodes of flushing can add up to persistent red patches and broken blood vessels. We offer the most advanced treatment to improve the appearance of skin redness, using IPL, Pulsed Dye Laser, and Nd:Yag lasers.

If you are troubled by facial redness in Shreveport, Alexandria Louisiana or the AKLATEX region, we will first meet with you and discuss medical treatment of any underlying skin diseases including acne and rosacea. We will recommend skin care products to reduce the appearance of redness, and to treat sensitive skin. There are very few topical treatments that make a considerable impact, so we usually recommend topical anti-redness agents in conjunction with laser treatments to optimize redness reduction. We offer IPL, Pulsed Dye Laser, Nd:Yag laser, and topical allowing us to customize treatments for the most effective and convenient experience for our patients.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is ideal for anyone wishing to improve the skin tone of their face, neck, chest, hands, or anywhere else on the body they have discoloration. IPL uses a broad band of pulsed light to target both red and brown discoloration.

Pulsed Dye Laser

Facial Redness

The Pulsed Dye Laser improves facial redness by targeting small blood vessels, located just beneath the skin’s surface. The blood vessels absorb the laser’s concentration of heat and are destroyed. Multiple sessions are needed to achieve maximal change.

Scars & Stretch Marks

The Pulsed Dye Laser improves scars and stretch marks by targeting small blood vessels, located just beneath the skin’s surface. The blood vessels absorb the laser’s concentration of heat; thus stimulating healthy collagen production in the scarred area. This will thicken the areas and can greatly improve their appearance. Young scars and stretch marks are usually red and respond best to the Pulsed Dye Laser. The earlier they are treated, the better they will do. Multiple sessions are needed to achieve maximal change. This treatment is often followed by a series of Fraxel Re:Store treatments to help with textural concerns. Dr. Hooper and Dr. Jackson will recommend a treatment plan that is best for you.

Nd:Yag Laser

The 1064 Nd:Yag Laser uses a wavelength of light to harmlessly penetrate the top layer of the skin. It targets the dilated blood vessels beneath the skin’s surface, breaking them apart to be naturally absorbed by the body. We use the Nd:Yag laser for larger veins and angiomas. The Nd:Yag is often combined with the Pulsed Dye Laser treatment to maximize results.

MultiPlex Laser

Cynosure Cynergy laser treats vascular lesions with unsurpassed efficacy and minimal side effects. That’s because the revolutionary MultiPlex technology enables the sequential emission of two wavelengths from the same delivery system, a high-powered Pulsed Dye Laser and a 1064 Nd:Yag laser.

Both wavelengths are ideal for performing vascular-related treatments. The Pulsed Dye Laser is the “gold standard” for targeting vascular lesions such as port wine stains, as well as smaller red vessels, scars and rosacea. Likewise, the Nd:Yag laser is particularly effective at treating larger facial veins and angiomas.

Treatment usually involves controlling the acne with antibiotics with topical or oral medications.

Although there is no cure for Rosecea, the familiar redness of the cheeks and face can be treated to reduce its appearance.   Laser therapy or IPL, Intense Pulsed Light therapy. The Cynosure Elite Multiplex combines the power of IPL therapy with the use of Alexandrite and YAG lasers to treat the diffuse redness associated with rosacea as well as the larger deeper vessel associate with this condition.

In Louisiana, laser therapy adds greater benefit than IPL alone because it treats the deeper vessels the feed the superficial redness.

The Cynosure Elite Multiplex is only found at Bridges to Beauty’s Louisiana Laser Center.
